Container Runtime Engine (CRE)

A Container Runtime Engine (CRE) installed is required to install DKP. DKP supports both Podman and Docker as container engines for cluster creation. If you choose to use Podman, it works with Linux on DKP. You can choose one of these supported CREs:

• Docker® container engine version 18.09.2 or higher installed for Linux or MacOS

  • On macOS, Docker runs in a virtual machine which needs to be configured with at least 8 GB of memory.

• Podman version 4.0 or higher for Linux. You can find the host requirements here: Host Requirements.
